Globally, the sitting time of Japanese people is notably long, averaging about 7 hours per day. Materials from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare point out that prolonged sedentary behavior increases health risks, recommending reducing sitting time as much as possible, making it a serious modern social issue. When a sitting posture continues for a long time, gravity causes blood to stagnate in the lower body. Especially when the muscles of the 'lower limbs (from calves to toes)' remain unmoved, the muscle pump function that pushes blood back to the heart does not work sufficiently. ▶ Development Story

The developer of this product, Nakahira, was in his third year with the company at the time. Compared to his active student days, he began suffering from chronic 'coldness' and 'heaviness' in his feet due to long hours of desk work.

While dealing with his own problems, he looked again at the healthcare market and the company's sales performance. Items that were 'painful but effective,' such as the 'Shoulder Blade Pillow' and massage machines that knead with intense force, were hits. He became convinced that modern people seek strong acupressure that provides a 'painful but good' feeling.

Therefore, to resolve his own foot discomfort in the shortest possible time, he started developing these room shoes as an acupressure device that uses no electricity, generates extreme physical stimulation solely through body weight, and has the effect of 'improving blood circulation.'

Developer Nakahira, who also handles public relations and product development.

Initially, the plan was to develop so-called acupressure slippers, but to create a product unlike any other, true to Amaze Plus's style, he visited an intense foot acupressure masseur. To apply sharp acupressure to the entire sole, he created an insole with a mountain range shape.

The feel wasn't bad, but to make the acupressure sensation of this insole more perceptible, he decided to change the outsole shape from flat to three-dimensional. He created multiple patterns of drawings, made samples, and took nearly a year to complete the ideal product.
