[Kawakami Village] Holding the Stay-Type Experiential Program 'Stars and Soil Retreat' Utilizing Local Resources!

Tsuchii-san, who works as a DAO Manager for Kawakami Village, Nagano Prefecture, utilizing the "Regional Revitalization Cooperation Team DAO" provided by Alyawmu Inc., held a stay-type experiential program "Stars and Soil Retreat in Kawakami Village" for young people from urban areas from March 4 (Wed) to March 6 (Fri), 2026 (2 nights, 3 days) in the village.

Based on the concept of "See the stars, touch the soil, remember yourself," the program combined Kawakami Village's unique resources: its agricultural environment and starry sky. A total of five young people from Tokyo and Kanagawa participated this time, and through nature experiences that stimulated their five senses and interaction with local residents, it became an opportunity for mental and physical refreshment and a deeper understanding of food and nature.

Background of the Event: Mental and Physical Refreshment and Creation of 'Related Populations' Through "Stars and Soil"

Kawakami Village boasts the largest lettuce production in Japan as a highland vegetable producing area, and is also the hometown of astronaut Kimiya Yui. Due to its high altitude, it is a village where a clear, starry sky can be seen.

This project started with the idea that "even just visiting Kawakami Village and experiencing its rich nature could refresh the minds and bodies of young people from urban areas." We focused on a "stay-type experiential program" that stimulates the five senses through experiences, allowing participants to deeply feel the connection with nature and the charm of Kawakami Village, rather than just a temporary tourist visit.

Main Program Itinerary for the 2-Night, 3-Day "Stars and Soil Retreat"

In this retreat, to allow participants to experience the charm of Kawakami Village from multiple angles, the following itinerary was implemented. Unlike simply visiting a tourist destination, the program design is characterized by experiences that deeply involve the region.

Program Highlights and Participant Voices

During the day, participants engaged with "soil" through village walks and interactions with host farmers. At night, they faced "space" through astronomical observation. The period coincided with a full moon, and the exceptionally beautiful full moon night sky became the most exciting scene of the program.
