Kagoshima Prefecture (Industrial Location Division, Department of Commerce, Industry, Labor and Fisheries) and AlphaDrive Co., Ltd. have launched 'KAGORISE,' an open innovation support project originating from Kagoshima for fiscal year 2026.

KAGORISE is a joint project designed to promote innovation from Kagoshima nationwide, leveraging the strengths of startups and core local companies to foster co-creation. The project operates two simultaneous programs: one to support the national expansion of local startups and another to assist local core enterprises in practicing open innovation, aiming to build a sustainable co-creation ecosystem.

For local startups, the program provides professional mentorship through bi-weekly individual sessions and offers opportunities to network and negotiate with over 300 major Japanese corporations. For local core enterprises, the program includes three seminars covering the basics of open innovation and hands-on support in defining co-creation themes with startups. Both programs offer activity subsidies up to 150,000 yen.

An online program briefing will be held for those interested in participating.

Date: Friday, June 26, 2026 For local enterprises: 17:00–17:30 For local startups: 17:30–18:00

The briefing will be hosted by Sorachi Kasho, Project Manager at AlphaDrive. Participation is free, and applications are accepted until 23:59 on Thursday, June 25.
