Alconix Makes a Corporate Hometown Tax Donation to Toyonaka City, Osaka

Alconix Corporation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO: Hiroshi Teshirogi; hereinafter 'Alconix') utilized the corporate hometown tax framework to donate 26 units of Waterlogic's 'Cube Style' direct-line UV hybrid water purifiers, handled by Alconix, to Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture. This donation contributes to the expansion of the water station project promoted by Toyonaka City aimed at reducing plastic waste, and by improving the water supply environment mainly in public facilities, it supports the creation of public spaces that are easy for citizens and facility users to use and are environmentally friendly.

■Overview of the Donation

The 'Cube Style' units donated this time are scheduled to be installed at 26 locations in the city, mainly public facilities, including 'Toyonaka Tsubasa Park 'ma-zika'', which Toyonaka City is currently developing.

Through the introduction of bottleless water dispensers, the city aims to enhance the water supply environment in public facilities and spaces, while also aiming to suppress environmental impact and reduce waste disposal costs by cutting down the amount of discarded PET bottles through the promotion of using personal bottles.

■Background of the Donation

As the distributor of Waterlogic products in Japan, Alconix provides these products for commercial uses, including hotels and restaurants. These products are highly evaluated for their contribution to sustainability—such as reducing the use of plastic products and suppressing environmental impact—due to their direct-line water supply feature. From this perspective, Alconix had been considering the potential utilization of 'Cube Style' as water station equipment contributing to environmental and community activities in local municipalities.

In 2021, Toyonaka City, along with Nishinomiya City, Amagasaki City, and Suita City, concluded a 'Basic Agreement on Inter-City Cooperation for Global Warming Countermeasures', and they are working together to improve civic services and solve issues faced by each city. As one of the wide-area collaborative projects based on that framework, 'reduction of plastic waste and heatstroke countermeasures' was established, and Toyonaka City is proceeding with the installation of water dispensers in public facilities within the city.

Based on Toyonaka City's efforts to develop water stations, Alconix believed that the introduction of 'Cube Style' would contribute to the enrichment of a hygienic and highly convenient water supply environment in public facilities, and proposed a payment in kind utilizing the corporate hometown tax system.

Through this donation, Alconix will contribute to Toyonaka City's goal of environmentally friendly community development rooted in the region and the provision of public spaces that everyone can use with peace of mind.
