Alconix Corporation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Hiroshi Teshirogi; hereinafter, Alconix) is pleased to announce the completion of the acquisition of 17,700㎡ of land in Hanyu City, Saitama Prefecture, and the acquisition of development permits under the City Planning Act, regarding its land acquisition plan for the construction of a recycling facility by a group company, which was announced on June 11, 2025.

Overview of this matter

The Alconix Group positions the resource circulation and recycling sector, which has seen increasing social demand in recent years, as a critical growth area where it can leverage its strengths in functions and technology. This new facility development is one of the measures to expand the non-ferrous metal recycling business, which will be promoted in conjunction with the Aluminum Copper Center. It materializes the group action plan of the Long-Term Management Plan 2030: "Realizing a circular society through the expansion and nationwide deployment of recycling centers."

On March 11, 2026, Alconix concluded a contract for the acquisition of the said land in Hanyu City, Saitama Prefecture, and obtained development permits under the City Planning Act. The transfer of ownership registration is scheduled to be completed in early April 2026, with construction work commencing in April-May 2026 and completion expected within fiscal year 2026.

For Aluminum Copper Center Co., Ltd. (Hirakata City, Osaka; Representative Director and President: Junji Koshiba; hereinafter, Aluminum Copper Center), a group company responsible for on-site operations, this will be its third base, following the Osaka Head Office/Osaka Aluminum Center and the Kitakyushu Branch/Inada Copper Center.

■Background and Aim of this matter

In recent years, the importance of establishing mechanisms for domestic resource circulation has increased in Japan, against the backdrop of rising geopolitical risks and the demand for decarbonization. With the enforcement of the revised Act on Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources on April 1, 2026, and other institutional developments promoting the use of recycled resources and the re-resourcification of raw materials, social demand for realizing a circular economy is growing stronger. Amidst this, the Alconix Group is proceeding with the development of bases to support the domestic circulation of non-ferrous metal resources. By investing in infrastructure functions such as the collection, sorting, and storage of non-ferrous metal scrap, we will contribute to promoting decarbonization, reducing environmental impact, and strengthening the stable supply base of critical resources. In particular, the Kanto region is a major source of non-ferrous metal scrap, and aluminum-related manufacturers, who are potential customers, have bases around Hanyu City, where this site is being developed. Therefore, we decided to develop this site to strategically strengthen our recycling business in the East Japan area.
Furthermore, in the development and operation, we are collaborating with the administration to comply with the rules for the construction and operation of yards stipulated by Saitama Prefecture's "Saitama Prefecture Ordinance on Regulation of Outdoor Storage Businesses for Specific Recycled Resources" (Saitama Yard Ordinance). In addition, by utilizing the Alconix Group's information infrastructure and working to create a mechanism for responsible procurement, we will develop a recycling hub that future business partners can procure from with peace of mind.
