[Artist Profile | Yu Nagaba]
Born in Tokyo in 1976. Moved to Turkey during childhood due to his father's transfer and learned oil painting from a local artist. After graduating from an art university in Tokyo, he worked on T-shirt graphics at an apparel company before becoming a freelancer and starting his career as an artist in earnest. Initially producing works in various styles, he shifted in 2014 to his current style composed only of black and white lines. His motifs are chosen from movies, art, and music he encountered during childhood and beyond, strongly influenced by 90s American culture. His style became widely known after being featured on the cover of the magazine "POPEYE", and since then, he has not only produced artworks but also collaborated with famous brands domestically and internationally. In 2019, he held a solo exhibition "Express More with Less," moving his support from drawing to canvas. He garnered significant attention along with "The Last Supper" held at the Shibuya gallery SAI the following year. Since then, he has continued to attract attention both domestically and internationally, including solo exhibitions in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and participation in the Chinese art fair "WEST BUND".
■ New Products Including the Fashionable Thick-Soled Model "Plus Line"
Since its birth in 2011, OOFOS® has been supported for its shock absorption and recovery through the special material "OOfoam". The newly introduced "Plus Line" maintains its overwhelming functionality while adopting a voluminous silhouette that matches modern trends. While being recovery shoes, they have been elevated into a modern design that looks great for city wear. In addition to the standard Black, colors that blend well with outfits, such as clean Chalk and refreshing Mint, are lined up. Further
