Actio Installs "Starlink Business" at Nagano Chikuma Technopark General Factory

Actio Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and COO: Naoto Konuma; hereinafter "Actio"), a general construction machinery rental company, installed a "Starlink Business" satellite communication antenna at its Nagano Chikuma Technopark General Factory on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, with the aim of providing rapid recovery and reconstruction support in the event of a disaster.

In recent years, natural disasters such as heavy rains, heavy snow, and earthquakes have frequently occurred in various regions. During disasters, communication failures are prone to occur due to concentrated access to telephones and the internet, as well as power lines and communication cables being cut off by fallen trees or snow, causing base stations to cease functioning. In such situations, coordination with administrative agencies becomes difficult, and there is concern about significant delays in relief and recovery efforts due to a lack of necessary information.

This time, with the aim of providing rapid recovery and reconstruction support in the event of a disaster, a "Starlink Business" satellite communication antenna has been installed at the Nagano Chikuma Technopark General Factory. "Starlink Business" is a low-Earth orbit satellite broadband internet service for corporations. Even if communication is cut off due to a disaster, it is possible to maintain business continuity by ensuring access to critical business systems and communication with administrative agencies through the "Starlink" satellite network. Furthermore, during disasters, securing communication means is a crucial element for protecting the lives and safety of residents, so the Nagano Chikuma Technopark General Factory will be opened to local residents to provide an internet connection environment. By making our facility function as a local disaster prevention base, we will contribute to improving the resilience of the local community.

The Nagano Chikuma Technopark General Factory is a large maintenance factory established to strengthen machine supply and maintenance systems for the Hokushinetsu region. It is located between the Sano Technopark General Factory in Tochigi Prefecture and the Mie Inabe Technopark General Factory in Mie Prefecture, and by closely cooperating with both factories, it has enabled faster machine supply.
