Aktio Corporation (Headquarters: Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Naoto Onuma; hereinafter "Aktio"), a comprehensive construction machinery rental company, in collaboration with the Japan Hinata Miyazaki National Sports Festival and National Sports Festival for People with Disabilities Miyakonojo City Executive Committee (Chairman: Nobunaga Ikeda), has conducted a demonstration experiment for the construction of communication infrastructure at Kirishima Shuzo Sports Land Miyakonojo.
In this demonstration experiment, Aktio utilized "Starlink Business" and wireless LAN access points. During the "3rd Miyazaki Prefecture Track and Field Record Meet" held on Friday, March 20, 2026, the company provided a comfortable internet environment in a dedicated booth and verified its effectiveness.
"KUROKIRI STADIUM (Miyazaki Prefecture Yamanokuchi Athletics Stadium)," located at Kirishima Shuzo Sports Land Miyakonojo, is a large-scale stadium completed in March 2025. It has achieved "Type 1 Certification," which allows for the hosting of official Japan Association of Athletics Federations competitions, and "Class 2" status, recognized by World Athletics (WA) as capable of hosting Asian Games-level track and field events. It has been selected as the main venue for the National Sports Festival and the National Sports Festival for People with Disabilities to be held in 2027. Built on a vast 24-hectare site surrounded by mountains, the facility boasts a maximum spectator capacity of 15,000, necessitating the construction of an internet environment capable of supporting a large number of visitors during major events.
Given this background, Aktio supported the construction of communication infrastructure utilizing "Starlink Business." The company provided support ranging from the selection of installation sites for Starlink antennas and access points to their installation and operation.
Moving forward, Aktio will continue to leverage its "Rentalsulting" know-how to contribute to the development of safe and secure social infrastructure and regional revitalization.
Overview of the Demonstration Experiment
About Starlink Business + Access Points "Starlink Business" enables the construction of a high-speed, stable internet environment by utilizing the "Starlink" satellite network, even in locations where mobile or fiber-optic lines are difficult to use. By combining this with "Buffalo Outdoor Wi-Fi Access Points," which feature dustproof, waterproof, and environmental resistance, it is possible to expand the Wi-Fi environment. Additionally, because it is equipped with a "repeater" function that allows multiple access points to connect wirelessly to each other, the Wi-Fi area can be further expanded by adding more units.
