akippa to Operate Official Parking for 'Oarai Sea Fireworks Festival 2026'

akippa Inc. (President and CEO: Genki Kanaya), which operates the parking marketplace 'akippa', has decided to operate the official parking for the 'Oarai Sea Fireworks Festival 2026' to be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, in Oarai Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, continuing from last year.

This year, a record 20,000 fireworks for Oarai are planned, and a large number of visitors are expected. On the day, approximately 4,500 parking spaces across 17 official lots will be rented out on a reservation-only basis. Additionally, a new 'parking lot with free shuttle bus' service will be introduced this year to achieve a smoother access environment.

Reservations for the official parking lots are now being accepted from 5:00 PM on June 5th via the special page below.

Last year, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of Oarai Town, the Oarai Sea Fireworks Festival featured a demonstration flight by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force 'Blue Impulse', attracting a large number of visitors. This year, a record 20,000 fireworks are expected to light up the night sky, promising even greater excitement.

On the other hand, since many visitors access the event by car, traffic congestion on surrounding roads and a shortage of parking spaces have been major challenges for the event.

akippa has been undertaking the following initiatives in Ibaraki Prefecture: (Note 1)
・Operation of official parking for the large music festival 'LuckyFes'
・Collaboration with B.LEAGUE team 'Ibaraki Robots'
・Implementation of Park & Ride at Hitachi Seaside Park, Nakaminato Fish Market, and the Oarai area
・Implementation of the Nakaminato/Oarai akippa Owner Promotion Project

Leveraging the operational experience and recognition gained in Ibaraki Prefecture through these initiatives, akippa will operate the official parking for this event again this year. (Note 2)

This year, we will prepare 17 parking lots with approximately 4,500 spaces to alleviate parking shortages and congestion.

Furthermore, starting this year, we will newly introduce a 'parking lot with free shuttle bus' service aimed at avoiding traffic jams, further working to alleviate traffic congestion.

As a 'problem-solving company', we will continue to work on solving traffic issues during events in collaboration with the local community, supporting connections in the real world.
