Official Parking Management for "2026 Asahikawa Half Marathon" Decided by akippa

(CEO: Genki Kanaya), which operates the smart parking app "akippa," has announced that it will continue to manage the official parking for the "2026 Asahikawa Half Marathon" (hereinafter, Asahikawa Half Marathon), to be held in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido, on Sunday, September 27, 2026. Reservations will begin on Monday, April 1.

By offering approximately 600 parking spaces near the venue on a complete reservation-only basis for this event, akippa aims to create an environment where visitors can arrive with peace of mind. Additionally, by recommending public transportation such as buses for those without reservations, traffic dispersion will be promoted, which is expected to alleviate surrounding traffic congestion.

The Asahikawa Half Marathon was rebranded from the "Asahikawa Marathon" in 2009 and relaunched as an event centered around the half marathon.

However, the official parking for participants was "free and first-come, first-served," leading to significant operational challenges such as congestion around the venue and traffic jams due to waiting for entry.

To resolve these traffic issues, akippa took over the management of official parking last year, implementing a "paid (marathon support fee) and complete reservation-only" system. (*)

The complete reservation system, implemented for the first time last year, helped to disperse arrival times for visitors, leading to reduced traffic congestion in the surrounding areas and smoother access. Recognizing this achievement, it has been decided to continue the operation this year.

akippa has accumulated expertise in parking management at various events across Japan, including Hokkaido. This year, we will leverage this expertise to further improve convenience for runners and visitors.
