akippa Inc. (CEO: Genki Kanaya), which operates the smart parking app "akippa," has decided to continue operating the official parking for the "2026 Asahikawa Half Marathon" (hereinafter, Asahikawa Half Marathon), to be held in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido, on Sunday, September 27, 2026. Reservations will begin on Monday, April 1.

By offering approximately 600 parking spaces around the venue as a complete reservation system for this event, akippa aims to create an environment where visitors can arrive with peace of mind. For those without reservations, the use of public transportation such as buses will be encouraged to promote traffic dispersion, which is expected to alleviate congestion in the surrounding areas.

akippa strives to support smooth mobility and contribute to solving local traffic issues through parking operations at events nationwide.

The Asahikawa Half Marathon changed its name from "Asahikawa Marathon" in 2009 and was newly held as a half marathon-centric event.

However, the official parking for participants was "free and first-come, first-served," which led to significant operational challenges such as congestion around the venue and traffic jams due to waiting for entry.

To resolve these traffic problems, akippa has been responsible for operating the official parking as a "paid (marathon support fee) and complete reservation system" since last year (※).

The complete reservation system, implemented for the first time last year, helped disperse visitors' arrival times, leading to reduced congestion in surrounding areas and smoother access. Recognizing this achievement, it has been decided to continue the operation this year.

akippa has accumulated expertise in parking operations at various events nationwide, including Hokkaido. This year, we will leverage this know-how to further improve convenience for runners and visitors.

Moving forward, as a "problem-solving company," we will continue to collaborate with local governments and event organizers nationwide to address diverse parking issues.
