Key Points

AIST Solutions, in collaboration with AIST, provides support services to companies and research institutions for the introduction and effective utilization of chemical data analysis applications.

The seminar focuses on "High-Throughput Spectral Analysis," aiming for participants to understand not just how to operate the tools, but also "why they work."

Participants can analyze their own data using a trial license after the seminar.

Overview

In recent years, spectral measurement techniques such as XPS and Raman spectroscopy have enabled the acquisition of large amounts of high-quality data. In materials development, there is an increasing trend to acquire vast amounts of spectral data, including mapping measurements, using XPS, Raman spectroscopy, and other methods. Efficiently analyzing and utilizing this data has become a critical challenge.

This course focuses on "High-Throughput Spectral Analysis" to address these challenges, teaching practical analysis methods using an EM algorithm-based peak fitting technique and the dedicated application "EMPeaks."

The goal is to acquire skills that directly lead to improved development efficiency through automated analysis and advanced data utilization in materials development, by understanding not just "how to operate" but also "why it works."

The methods covered in this course can also be applied to integration into analytical instruments and software implementation. This content is also expected to be a catalyst for creating new value and fostering collaborative research for instrument manufacturers and software developers. Furthermore, participants will receive a one-month trial license for the demo version of the application, allowing them to analyze their own data with the app after the seminar.

The basic session is designed for beginners, focusing on learning the fundamental operations of spectral analysis tools and the basics of peak fitting through hands-on PC operation.

The advanced session covers theoretical backgrounds (EM algorithm, mixture models, statistical assumptions, etc.) and delves into automated analysis of spectral data and application examples.

Individuals who handle spectral analysis (XPS, Raman, etc.) in their work and are currently using trial-and-error methods for peak fitting.

Researchers and engineers who spend a significant amount of time analyzing large volumes of spectral data (hundreds to tens of thousands of points) and wish to improve efficiency.

Those who are experiencing issues with variability and reproducibility in analysis results due to initial parameter settings or noise.

Individuals aiming to enhance productivity in materials development by advancing the efficiency and automation of data analysis.

Researchers and engineers involved in materials evaluation and analysis for semiconductors, batteries, catalysts, and other fields.

Individuals at analytical instrument and measurement equipment manufacturers who are considering enhancing or differentiating their analysis functions.
