Isaac Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / CEO: Kazuki Tanaka, hereinafter "Isaac") is pleased to announce its participation in the production committee for the film "Useless People" (scheduled for release in January 2027), which marks the directorial and screenwriting debut of author Maha Harada.

The film is based on "Useless People," a short story included in Maha Harada's 2014 novel "You Are Someone's Precious Person" (published by Kodansha Bunko). It is a human drama about Satomi, the protagonist who works as a museum guard, who uncovers the truth about her father's later years, unknown even to his family, as she traces memories of her deceased father who died alone.

Regarding Participation

ArtX, operated by Isaac, connects galleries and collectors globally through its AI-powered platform "ArtXCloud," working towards the digitalization and international development of the 65 billion dollar art market.

Yuki Haraguchi, Director at Isaac, was inspired to enter the art world through Maha Harada's novels and founded ArtX with the desire to "enhance the presence of the Japanese art industry globally." Maha Harada, who also has experience as a curator at a museum, has consistently advocated for passing on art to the next generation.

Both share a deep resonance regarding their approach to art and the future of the Japanese art market. Isaac believes that expanding interest in art through the medium of film will also contribute to market development, and thus supported the production of this film. We will continue our efforts towards the development of the art domain in the future.

Representative's Comment (Yuki Haraguchi, Director at Isaac Inc.)

Maha Harada's novels were my gateway to art. Her continuous support for the art industry through her writing and ArtX's ambition to expand the Japanese art market globally resonate deeply.

I supported the production of this film, hoping that through the medium of cinema, interest in art will reach as many people as possible. ArtX will continue to work towards the development of the art industry.
