Top 3 Pilot Comments

Winner | Aaron Driu (Australia)

I am truly honored to have claimed my first victory in my second season competing in AIR RACE X, right at the season opener. I'm genuinely thrilled to have competed against and beaten such an elite field, including masters like Yoshihide Muroya. My aircraft was in perfect condition, and I executed a flight I'm fully satisfied with. I'm extremely pleased with this result.

At the same time, I feel there's still room to push more aggressively and discover even faster racing lines. I intend to keep refining my precision. Above all, I've started the 2026 season in the best possible way. I look forward to maintaining consistent performances, learning from each race, and enjoying this journey ahead.

2nd Place | Martin Sonka (Czech Republic)

I'm satisfied with the second-place result. It's a solid outcome for our team and gives us confidence moving forward. Of course, winning would have been even better, but I accept the result as it is.

This was finally a great result for us, and we were able to fly under favorable conditions. I hope we can maintain this momentum into the second race.

3rd Place | Yoshihide Muroya (Japan)

The opening race of this season ended with second in qualifying and third in the final. After dedicating myself fully to aircraft development and training throughout the off-season, I deeply regret not securing the win in the first race—it's a painful result. In the semifinals, I was defeated by Aaron Driu, who is only in his second season, reminding me that there are still areas we need to improve. However, the season has only just begun, and the points gap is not insurmountable.

We will thoroughly analyze our shortcomings, further refine our aircraft, team, and myself, and come back stronger in the upcoming races. I will fight each race with care and determination on my path to reclaiming the championship title.

What is AIR RACE X?

Air racing is an aerial motorsport in which aircraft fly through a three-dimensional course, competing in speed and precision flying.

AIR RACE X is the world's premier championship in this discipline. Pilots with world-class skills fly highly specialized race planes at speeds up to 400 km/h and under extreme G-forces of up to 12G, competing for the fastest flight times and highest maneuvering accuracy.

Points are awarded based on race results, and the annual champion is determined by the total accumulated points across the season.
