Cafe de Chillmill (Nishitanaka, Izumi Ward), operated by Social Welfare Corporation Ainomi (Izumi Ward, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture), has achieved its first goal of 600,000 yen in the crowdfunding campaign "We want to continue the cafe for moms of children needing medical care! Support us to update worn-out outdoor furniture" being conducted on READYFOR, on June 27, 2026 (Sat).

We reached our goal on the 23rd day since launch, with the support of 57 donors. We are now continuing our challenge to improve the cafe environment with a next goal (total of 1 million yen) for "Patio Connecting Thoughts," which is a roof solution for the 7-meter passage connecting the register building and the terrace seating.

We are deeply grateful for everyone's support.

The crowdfunding period runs until July 26, 2026 (Sun) at 23:00.

Use of First Goal Funds (600,000 yen)

- Update of outdoor furniture for terrace seating

- Introduction of spot coolers

As the summer heat becomes more severe each year, we are preparing to welcome customers more comfortably by equipping the cafe, which is entering its third year, with improved facilities.

Challenge for Next Goal "Patio Connecting Thoughts"

- Total Next Goal Amount: 1,000,000 yen (including the first goal of 600,000 yen) / Additional Target: 400,000 yen

- Project Name: "Patio Connecting Thoughts"

- Content: Roof solution for the 7-meter passage connecting the register building and the terrace seating. Instead of large-scale construction, we are considering a method of stretching wires between the buildings and hanging a wavy fabric shade (pergola shade). We aim to create a resort-like "canopy space."

*Implementation details will vary depending on the amount of support received.

- Background: Currently, there is no roof over the passage, and staff and customers have to dash across it on rainy days. We want to create a space where customers, staff, and children needing medical care can spend their time with peace of mind, on rainy days, sunny days, and every day, together with all of you.

A cafe staff member walks along the 7-meter passage connecting the register building and the terrace seating. The day service facility on the right can be glimpsed from the passage, making it an important spot that connects various thoughts.

What is Cafe de Chillmill?

A cafe operated through work-sharing, centered around five mothers raising children who require medical care. It opened in April 2024 through crowdfunding (with support from over 200 people) as part of a project by Social Welfare Corporation Ainomi.

Staff active in the cafe and peer support

Store Name: Cafe de Chillmill

Location: Nishi-Tanaka Matsushita 23, Izumi Ward, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture

Operation: Social Welfare Corporation Ainomi

Business Hours: Monday - Friday, 11:00 - 17:00

Closed: Saturdays and Sundays (On weekends, all staff focus on family matters, including the care of children needing medical care)

Opening: April 2024

The cafe also functions as a base for the peer support group "Honopia" (Sendai City collaborative project). Staff, as mothers of children needing medical care, support other mothers in similar situations nationwide through Instagram Live (@hono.peer) and individual consultations.

As we approach our third year since opening, we are undertaking crowdfunding again for cafe maintenance and environmental improvements.

Social Welfare Corporation Ainomi and Cafe de Chillmill

Social Welfare Corporation Ainomi has been supporting the lives of individuals with severe disabilities in Sendai City's Izumi Ward. Since 2024, we have been operating a cafe where mothers of children needing medical care, who face difficulties in employment and social participation, can work.

According to the Social Welfare Act, the cafe business and social welfare services are independently financed, and the corporation's ability to provide financial support for cafe operations is limited.

This crowdfunding campaign aims not only to raise funds but also to inform as many people as possible about the social issues faced by families with children needing medical care and the initiatives of Cafe de Chillmill, thereby expanding the circle of support.

*The Social Welfare Corporation is eligible for tax deductions (certified by Sendai City in June 2023). Donations to the corporation or Cafe de Chillmill are eligible for tax deductions.
