[Sendai, Izumi Ward] Café demonstrating a workplace for parents of medically fragile children launches campaign for 3rd-year operational funding

Cafe de Chillmill (23 Nishitanakamatsushita, Izumi-ku, Sendai), a café where mothers of children with complex medical needs work, operated by the social welfare corporation Aino Mi (headed by Yuko Inui), launched a 51-day crowdfunding campaign on READYFOR on Friday, June 5, 2026, to raise funds for terrace furniture renewal and spot cooler installation. The initial goal is 600,000 yen.

Now in its third year, the outdoor terrace furniture is showing signs of wear, and summer heat management has become a priority. The café is reaching out to the community to secure funds to continue its operations.

Support Methods:
Support is available via the READYFOR page. There are four types of rewards, including thank-you messages from the staff, drink tickets for in-store use, and original mugs. All supporters will receive an annual report issued in August 2026.

Operational Background:
Cafe de Chillmill opened in April 2024. The organization has been caring for children with severe disabilities and medical needs since its founding in 2005. Over the past two years, they have learned how to manage staff shifts by supporting each other through sudden absences, allowing parents to stay connected to society. Under the Social Welfare Act, welfare services and café operations must maintain separate accounting; therefore, securing independent funds is essential for the café's sustainability.

Targets and Usage:
The initial goal of 600,000 yen will be allocated to updating terrace furniture and implementing heat countermeasures such as spot coolers. Even if the goal is not met, the organization will use its own funds to implement minimal measures. If the goal is exceeded, they will construct a roof connecting the register building to the terrace.
