Aidem Co., Ltd. (Shinjuku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Ryo Kabayama), which plans and publishes job advertisements, will hold the ZP de Utsu Kai "ZNONZ Photo Exhibition ~The Choice Not to Be Overly Captured~" from Thursday, April 2nd to Wednesday, April 15th at its photo gallery [Sirius]. ZP de Utsu Kai "ZNONZ Photo Exhibition ~The Choice Not to Be Overly Captured~"

The "ZP de Utsu Kai" will hold a photo exhibition using "zone plates," a shooting tool that does not use lenses. This exhibition introduces expressions that actively embrace elements such as light bleeding, blurring, and halos, distancing themselves from quantified photographic performance like resolution and sharpness. Zone plates were developed with the aim of capturing the atmosphere and impression of a place—the "air" that includes the temperature, humidity, and the rustling of the wind. The works displayed in this exhibition prioritize creating "images" that are left to the viewer's senses, much like Impressionist paintings, rather than clear outlines. Through this exhibition, which re-examines the act of "capturing," please experience the freedom that photography originally possessed and the charm of "images" that quietly affect the viewer's senses at the venue. (40 works on display)

"ZP de Utsu Kai" ZP de Utsu Kai is a community of professional and highly amateur photography enthusiasts who have gathered to explore photographic expression using zone plates (ZP). Using "ZNONZ," a camera optical device that does not use lenses, we are engaged in emotional expression and photographic expression that actively embraces randomness, distinguishing ourselves from the current situation that is solely focused on resolution and sharpness.

About "ZNONZ" ZNONZ is a lensless camera optical device that uses a concentric optical element called a zone plate instead of a conventional lens for shooting. Unlike lenses that utilize the phenomenon of light refraction, zone plates feature unique halos that leverage the characteristics of diffraction phenomena, soft depiction that is not dominated by long or short distances, and a wide image circle. ZNONZ is a product that has miniaturized, lightweighted, and inexpensively realized these characteristics of zone plates.

The exhibition will also be featured on the "Sirius Blog"! ■ Sirius Blog https://www.photo-sirius.net/blog/
