AI SPERA Unveils 'AITEM,' a Next-Gen ASM Concept for the AI Era, at Infosecurity Europe 2026

AI Spera Japan announced that its cyber threat intelligence platform, 'Criminal IP,' was showcased at 'Infosecurity Europe 2026,' one of Europe's largest cybersecurity events, held at ExCeL London in June 2026.

Participating for the second consecutive year, Criminal IP conducted live demonstrations of its Attack Surface Management (ASM) capabilities and introduced 'AITEM (AI-based Threat Exposure Management)' as the next direction for ASM in the AI era.

AITEM is a conceptual framework that leverages AI agents to handle the entire workflow of visualizing external public assets, prioritizing threats, identifying asset owners, analyzing CVE impact, and providing response support. The company aims to realize an ASM that goes beyond mere 'visualization' to support teams in determining the sequence of risk reviews, identifying personnel responsible, and implementing specific mitigation measures.

## Evolving ASM: From Visualization to Execution
While traditional ASM has played a crucial role in discovering external assets, discovery alone is insufficient for modern security operations. AI SPERA CEO Kang Byung-tak stated, 'Visualizing threats and responding to them are entirely different challenges. To build a more secure environment, we must transition from visualization to execution.' By using AI to remove noise and complement context, security teams can focus on critical risks and respond in real-time.

Recent advancements, such as AI-driven vulnerability discovery, allow attackers to identify targets faster than ever. Criminal IP emphasizes a model where AI agents handle information gathering, contextualization, correlation analysis, and routine investigations, allowing analysts to focus on decision-making and response.

## Advancing ASM in the Japanese Market
Risk stemming from external public assets has become a management priority in Japan, with related threats ranking high in the IPA's '10 Major Security Threats 2026.' Particularly for Japanese firms, dispersed branches, outsourcing partners, and cloud environments make asset inventories and identifying responsible parties time-consuming. Additionally, the unauthorized use of AI services ('Shadow AI') presents new management challenges. AITEM provides an approach to bridge visualized risks to rapid decision-making and action.

AITEM is designed to integrate AI agents into the entire Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) cycle. By facilitating operations through natural language, it removes the need for manual configuration of complex queries and alert rules, thereby improving the efficiency of security operations.
