AGRIST Inc. (Headquarters: Shintomi Town, Miyazaki Prefecture, hereinafter AGRIST), a startup that solves agricultural challenges with technology, is pleased to announce that it has been featured in government materials as an advanced case study in food tech within the "MIDORI Accelerating GX Plan (common name: MIDORI BOOST)," decided and announced on June 25, 2026 (Fri) by the Green Food System Strategy Headquarters.

We have been striving to realize sustainable agriculture utilizing technology. The policy of this plan, which summarizes the measures to be intensively addressed by 2030, will serve as a tailwind to further accelerate social implementation.

Moving forward, we will contribute to the construction of a sustainable food system with our AI automatic harvesting robot and data technology to promote this plan.

Background of the "MIDORI Accelerating GX Plan" and AGRIST's Initiatives

The "MIDORI Accelerating GX Plan" aims to achieve both increased productivity and sustainability in Japan's food, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries industries (Green Transformation: GX), and calls for the creation of groundbreaking innovations and the dissemination of technologies that reduce environmental impact.

AGRIST will contribute to the priority measures of the "MIDORI Accelerating GX Plan" with on-site innovations centered on its AI automatic harvesting robot and data technology, and will specifically promote the following three approaches:

Establishment of "Adaptation to Climate Change" and "Sustainable Production" through Robotics

Dissemination of "Sustainable Food" through the Utilization of Cultivation Data

Establishment and Presentation of "Agricultural GX Business" with Growing Societal Interest

Comment from Yuki Hata, Representative Director of AGRIST Inc.

We are encouraged by the official decision of the "MIDORI Accelerating GX Plan." Amidst climate change and soaring energy prices, the rise in energy costs, including heavy oil, is a serious management issue that directly squeezes the profits of facility horticulture.

AGRIST is also a producer operating farms. Our efforts to optimize the use of energy and resources with AI, robots, and data technology not only reduce environmental impact but also fundamentally lower costs, making farming sustainable. We experience daily that environmental friendliness and economic efficiency are not in conflict, but rather are one and the same on the ground.

Demonstrating such "profitable" sustainable agriculture will attract private capital to agriculture, which has been difficult to invest in, and accelerate the social implementation of technology and the resolution of on-site issues. AGRIST will strive for innovation from the field to give shape to this cycle through each demonstration.
