JA organizations, prefectural federations, national federations, and IT/information centers from 38 prefectures have joined the study group, making it the largest DX community related to digital initiatives within the JA Group. 39 major IT companies and others support the activities as "Supporter Companies."
The objectives of the study group are:
(1) Research on digitalization to strengthen JA's organizational foundation, businesses, and activities.
(2) Implementation research focusing on "S-DX."
(3) Development and networking of digital talent.
S-DX stands for Simple, Speedy, Small Cost, Smartphone, and SNS, representing DX that can be implemented without undue burden.
Information Sharing, Learning, and Collaboration at Monthly Workshops to Accelerate DX
The monthly workshops held by the study group cover a wide range of topics, including the utilization of generative AI, paperless initiatives for various operations, digitalization of reservation and purchasing operations, strengthening communication with members, and the development of low-code applications. JAs and supporter companies that have taken early initiatives report on case studies, challenges, and solutions. By sharing on-site knowledge and information, the group deepens learning and collaboration to promote DX across the entire JA Group.
To foster camaraderie and facilitate collaboration, exchange meetings for members and supporter companies are held twice a year. In February of this year, the first exchange meeting outside Tokyo was held in Osaka. In June, a "Presentation Week" will be held where supporter companies will introduce their solutions, and on July 9th, another exchange meeting for members and supporter companies will take place.
The study group will continue to accelerate DX within the JA Group and address practical challenges through collaboration among members and with supporter companies.

For JA's operations and management, digital technology is no longer an option but an indispensable foundation. We believe that S-DX, which we have advocated, is the "achievable DX" that JAs truly need right now. This study group is a place to enhance the power of cooperation through digital means, strengthen JAs, and energize agriculture and local communities. By strategically thinking about the utilization of DX for each business and department and sharing practical experiences, we aim to develop human resources capable of managing with a digital mindset. New challenges are often accompanied by failures and obstacles. That is why the presence of colleagues who can encourage and consult with each other is important. We want to continue to nurture this study group as a hub for the JA Group to connect, learn, and advance DX.
