AgeWellJapan to Hold First Multi-Generational Co-Creation Festival "Age-Well HOKKAIDO" in Hokkaido

AgeWellJapan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Madoka Akagi; hereinafter "AgeWellJapan"), which operates the intergenerational exchange service "Motto Mate" and the permanent community space "Motto Ba!" where multiple generations gather, will hold "Age-Well HOKKAIDO" for the first time in Sapporo, Hokkaido, from Saturday, May 23 to Sunday, May 24, 2026, as the first regional expansion of the "Age-Well Festival," an event that fosters intergenerational challenges and co-creation. This project will be operated by an executive committee formed by three companies: Satsudora Holdings Co., Ltd., SOUSHIN HOLDINGS Co., Ltd., and AgeWellJapan. It aims to address regional issues such as the outflow of young talent and the lack of social participation opportunities for seniors, creating new regional connections and opportunities for "challenge and discovery."

What is Age-Well HOKKAIDO

This event is a "festival of discovery" with the theme "A society where everyone can age positively," where people of all ages, from children to seniors, can enjoy, learn, and challenge themselves together. Booths and experience programs by exhibiting companies will incorporate the element of "Age-Well" (aging positively through challenge and discovery), fostering intergenerational exchange and well-being connections. In Hokkaido, the venue for this event, issues such as a shortage of regional leaders and generational divides are pointed out against the backdrop of population decline, aging population, and the outflow of young people to urban areas. In this context, the event aims to create opportunities for young people and seniors to meet as "partners" who share life experiences, going beyond the relationship of "supporting/being supported," and to challenge themselves together. The "Age-Well Festival," held in Tokyo, will have a total of four events by 2025, attracting 16,000 visitors over two days in 2025, with cumulative attendance exceeding 30,000. "Age-Well HOKKAIDO" is part of the initiative to expand these efforts nationwide in earnest. By collaborating with companies rooted in Hokkaido, we will create a space where multiple generations can mingle and new challenges and discoveries can emerge, accelerating "Age-Well" in Japan from Hokkaido.
