Aflac Life Insurance Japan Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Masatoshi Koide) is pleased to announce that it held the "Valentine Blood Donation" in February of this year jointly with the "Aflac National Associates Association," an organization of our sales agents (associates), and approximately 800 people participated.

"Aflac's Valentine Blood Donation," marking its 32nd iteration this year, is a volunteer activity that began as a support effort following the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995. Because the winter season is the time of year when blood is most scarce due to a drastic drop in blood donors nationwide from outbreaks of colds and influenza, we have named it the "Valentine Blood Donation" with the intention of giving "love" to many people every February, and we have been engaged in it continuously.

This activity has become widely established among our executives, employees, and sales agents (associates) as an annual volunteer event, with a cumulative total of over 33,000 people related to our company having participated.

Our company was founded in 1974 along with Japan's first cancer insurance, and we are developing social contribution activities with the main theme of our brand promise, "Creating 'Living.'" Given that over 30% of the blood products for transfusion collected by the Japanese Red Cross Society are used for the treatment of cancer (malignant neoplasm) patients, we believe this volunteer activity is highly significant.

As the "pioneer of cancer insurance," our company has faced cancer for the longest time and supported many people fighting the disease. Moving forward, we will continue to meet the mandate and trust of our stakeholders by leveraging our unique resources and expertise to solve the social issues we must address, creating new value that can be shared with society.
