Aflac Life Insurance Japan Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Masatoshi Koide, hereinafter "Aflac") announces that it will continue to engage in childhood cancer awareness activities together with Sachiya Yamasaki of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters for the 2026 season.
Our company has been developing awareness activities for many years with the aim of promoting correct understanding of childhood cancer and expanding the circle of support. In April 2025, we concluded a partnership agreement with Fighters Sports & Entertainment Co., Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Ken Maezawa) and, together with player Yamasaki, we have been conducting interactive events with children facing childhood cancer (see attached sheet).
As a new initiative this fiscal year, we will start a donation program based on the number of innings pitched by player Yamasaki. Through this program, player Yamasaki will donate "number of innings pitched based on official records x 10,000 yen" to the Aflac Kids Support System* and the Gold Ribbon Network, a public interest incorporated foundation. The donations will be used to support children with cancer and their families.
Furthermore, at today's "Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters vs. Orix Buffaloes" game, we will hold the childhood cancer awareness event "Aflac Gold Ribbon Day." At this event, we are planning a first pitch ceremony by children with childhood cancer invited through Hokkaido University Hospital, an in-stadium broadcast of a video message from player Yamasaki, and a lottery giveaway of original goods for childhood cancer awareness.
