Our foundation will hold the "Aeon Cheers Club Shuri Castle Reconstruction Support Poster Contest 2026" starting July 1st.

The Aeon Cheers Club Shuri Castle Reconstruction Support Poster Contest 2025 Award Ceremony

This contest has been held since 2021 with the aim of fostering children's interest in the reconstruction of Shuri Castle and promoting a spirit of recovery through creative activities depicting Shuri Castle, which suffered extensive damage in a fire at the end of October 2019. From the powerful posters submitted nationwide, we will select winners for the "Grand Prize," "Okinawa Governor's Award," and other awards, based on comprehensive evaluation of descriptive ability, color expression, and creativity. The top award recipients and their guardians will participate in an award ceremony held in Okinawa Prefecture, as well as facility tours and Okinawan cultural experiences at various locations.

Our foundation has continuously supported the reconstruction of Shuri Castle, including a donation of 510 million yen to Okinawa Prefecture for the restoration of the main hall by fiscal year 2024. We have also held "Shuri Castle Reconstruction Commemorative Exhibitions" at Aeon Malls and airports nationwide, displaying submitted contest entries and providing information on the reconstruction status of Shuri Castle through panels and other means, in preparation for the planned restoration of the main hall this autumn.
