The Home Appliance Association (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Hideki Osumi, President & CEO, Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Inc.) has released the electronic version of "Smart Life Recommended BOOK," a booklet that promotes energy conservation through home appliances.
As a first step towards a decarbonized society, this content proposes a lifestyle that visualizes energy and uses it efficiently without waste by combining energy saving, energy creation, and energy storage. It clearly explains the energy consumption reduction effects of recent energy-saving home appliances and the features of the latest products.
The 2026 edition is designed to be enjoyable and understandable for a wide range of ages through a quiz format. In terms of content, comparison data on the energy consumption of home appliances has been updated to the latest version to promote replacement purchases. Additionally, a new "Latest Information on Carbon Neutrality" page has been added, covering "GX ZEH"*1 and "Demand Response"*2.

GX: Abbreviation for Green Transformation.
A strategy to achieve both decarbonization and economic growth by shifting the industrial and social structure, which is centered on fossil fuels, to one centered on clean energy.
ZEH: Abbreviation for Net Zero Energy House.
A house that balances energy consumed by the household with energy generated by solar power generation, etc., achieving a net zero or negative annual energy consumption.
GX ZEH: (G-X-Zeh)
A new ZEH standard that strengthens insulation performance, energy-saving performance, and energy creation performance compared to current ZEH, incorporating the concept of Green Transformation (GX).
*2 Demand Response
A mechanism to adjust the balance of electricity supply and demand by consumers intelligently controlling their electricity usage.
