Advance Composite, winner of IVS2025, secures Series B funding from Kyoto iCAP to expand solutions for next-generation industries with unique composite material technology

Advance Composite Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Representative Director: Junichi Hattori), which develops, manufactures, and sells metal matrix composite materials utilizing its proprietary molten metal forging method, has implemented a Series B third-party allotment of shares with KYOTO-iCAP Fund No. 3, managed by Kyoto University Innovation Capital Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, Representative Director: Kimikimi Kusumi, hereinafter "Kyoto iCAP"), as the unlimited liability partner.

Background and Purpose of Fundraising

Against the backdrop of humanity's desire for sustainability and improvements in computing performance, new materials are required that cannot be met by combinations of existing materials. Our company has succeeded in developing and mass-producing composite materials that fuse inorganic porous bodies and metals at a high level, addressing challenges such as energy saving through "balancing mechanical strength and light weight" and "overwhelming heat dissipation performance" to prevent thermal runaway in computing elements.

Through this funding, we will further strengthen our collaboration with academia, deepen research and development in cutting-edge fields, enhance our presence in the semiconductor supply chain, and accelerate business growth.

Co-creation and Academia Collaboration Born from IVS2025

The collaboration with Kyoto iCAP, the underwriter for this round, was sparked by an encounter with Mr. Yagi of Kyoto iCAP, who served as a judge at "IVS2025 LAUNCHPAD," where our company won first place. Building on the partnership born from this encounter at the pitch contest, we aim to promote collaboration with academia that maximizes the knowledge of Japanese national universities and provide fundamental materials essential for next-generation industries.
