[Registration Open] June 3 (Wed) 19:30- Online Event: 'Life Lessons Beyond Material Things - Perspectives on Preparedness from Fukushima Experiences and Noto Relief Sites'

The accredited NPO ADRA Japan (Location: Shibuya, Tokyo; Chair: Toshio Shibata) will host an online event on June 3, 2026, starting at 19:30, titled 'Life Lessons Beyond Material Things: Perspectives on Preparedness from Fukushima Experiences and Noto Relief Sites.'

What is evacuation life like during a disaster?
Evacuation life does not end in a few days.
The real hardship begins afterward.

In this event, Akihiro Osawa, a survivor of the Great East Japan Earthquake and a relief worker for the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, will share from his own experience:
✔ The real situation faced by victims
✔ Forms of preparedness that physical goods cannot fill
✔ Small steps we can take

Now, while nothing is happening, is the only time we can prepare.
In the event of a large-scale disaster, staying at home may be a realistic option.
Understand the anxieties and challenges faced by those who remain home and take this as an opportunity to rethink your future preparedness.

Participation from a smartphone is possible, and you are free to join or leave during the session.

Akihiro Osawa
ADRA Japan Domestic Operations
Born in Iitate Village, Fukushima Prefecture. He was approaching university graduation and employment during the Great East Japan Earthquake (March 2011). After starting his career as an elementary school teacher (Kawasaki City, Kanagawa), he gained experience in education and international cooperation through the JICA Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (Elementary Education, Zambia), JICA domestic coordinators, and as a Japanese language teacher. He joined ADRA Japan following the Noto Peninsula Earthquake (January 2024), engaging in disaster victim support locally.
