Science Tokyo Adopts 'TAO (The Admissions Office)', an International Online Admissions System

The international online admissions system 'TAO (The Admissions Office),' provided by TAO Inc., has been adopted by the Institute of Science Tokyo (Science Tokyo). Science Tokyo plans to utilize TAO for undergraduate transfer exams, MEXT scholarship student selections, and the International Graduate Program (IGP) starting in May 2026. Moving forward, the university intends to expand the scope of TAO's usage based on these initial results, gradually promoting the digital transformation (DX) and internationalization of its admissions operations. As a designated 'International Center of Excellence in Research,' Science Tokyo has made strengthening world-class research and attracting talent a core strategy. The adoption of TAO is part of the infrastructure development to ensure that internationally outstanding students and researchers can gather in Japan. TAO is an international online admissions system used by users in 205 countries and regions. Its multilingual support allows domestic and international applicants to apply from the same online environment, enabling universities to conduct international recruitment efficiently. Furthermore, its intuitive UI/UX design allows for one-stop management of applications, screening, results, and enrollment procedures. TAO Inc. maintains international security standards, including ISO/IEC 27701, 27017, and 27001. An online seminar regarding admissions DX is scheduled for June 10, 2026.
