Adidas Japan K.K. will launch the new 'ADIZERO Dropset Pro' hybrid training shoe on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, designed for athletes who pursue both speed and strength.

This model is engineered to continuously support athletes of all levels from training to competition day and is scheduled to be worn by Adidas athletes at the world's premier hybrid fitness race in Stockholm. It is the first model designed for both training and racing, catering to the rapidly growing hybrid training market.

The 'ADIZERO Dropset Pro' merges the advanced nature of the ADIZERO series, for runners aiming for their 'fastest possible best time,' with the stability-focused DNA of the Dropset. It is designed to handle a variety of activities, from treadmill intervals and sled pushes to weighted lunges, farmer's carries, and wall balls, providing lightness for agile movements and a secure hold during forceful steps.

Prior to this, in March 2026, Adidas launched the 'ADIZERO Dropset Elite,' a race model developed in collaboration with elite hybrid athlete and HYROX world champion Tim Wenisch. The new 'ADIZERO Dropset Pro' was created after extensive testing with hybrid athletes like Graham Halliday and Fabian Eisenlauer, aimed at providing a versatile shoe for everything from daily training to competition preparation. The introduction of this Pro model further solidifies the ADIZERO Dropset series' position as a line specialized in hybrid performance. This product, developed with multi-disciplinary athletes in mind, symbolizes Adidas's commitment to supporting community growth and athlete evolution under its long-term partnership with the hybrid fitness race ATHX.

A new generation of athletes has emerged from hybrid training: lifters who run, runners who lift, and competitors who tackle everything from cardio to functional strength training in a single session. According to a survey by Adidas, nearly half (49%) of respondents felt their performance was limited by their current shoes. While more than four out of five seek support in all aspects of their training, over one in three have not found a shoe that meets all their needs.

Bernhard Serr, Senior Vice President of Adidas Training Products, stated: 'Hybrid athletes are changing the very concept of performance. As training is no longer confined to a single domain, footwear must also evolve. The 'ADIZERO Dropset Pro' embodies the results of our continuous testing and development with a wide range of athletes, from the elite to the broader hybrid community.'

Starting Wednesday, June 17, a try-on space for the 'ADIZERO Dropset Pro' will be available at the Adidas Brand Flagship Store MIYASHITA PARK. Supervised by hybrid athlete WATARU, the space allows visitors to experience hybrid training movements. The 'ADIZERO Dropset Pro' will be available for purchase on the same day at select Adidas directly-managed stores, the Adidas online shop, the official app, and some authorized retailers.

Survey Note: An online survey was conducted by YouGov, commissioned by Edelman and Adidas. The subjects were 'hybrid athletes' (people who combine running/endurance with strength/functional training in the same session). The survey ran from April 24 to May 4, 2026, in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, and the US. Published figures are a sum of results reflecting all responses from all surveyed regions.
