In recent years, SMEs in Tokyo have increasingly been accepting foreign talent to address labor shortages and strengthen their businesses. However, while many companies recognize the improvement of communication with foreign employees as a challenge, a lack of resources often prevents them from implementing initiatives to solve these issues, such as providing Japanese language education support. Furthermore, foreign talent often feels that the environment for working in English or their native language is not adequately prepared. Therefore, it has become necessary for companies to work on improving the English proficiency of their Japanese employees and to vitalize communication by promoting cross-cultural understanding.
Through the operation of this project, Adecco will create individual curricula for each participating company and provide meticulous hands-on support. This will promote communication improvement between Japanese and foreign employees in companies employing foreign staff and support the retention of foreign employees. For Japanese employees, Adecco will support English proficiency improvement while removing psychological barriers to using English. For foreign employees, as part of Japanese language education support, online business Japanese e-learning and in-person training will be provided. Through support for both Japanese and foreign employees, Adecco will foster the realization of better communication. Furthermore, for foreign job seekers, including international students, in-person business Japanese and etiquette courses will be offered to support their stable employment in Japanese companies.
Adecco has a proven track record of operating numerous projects commissioned by government agencies and local authorities. Moving forward, Adecco will maximize its expertise cultivated over many years in supporting the retention of foreign talent, contributing to the business performance improvement of companies, and supporting the career development of all working individuals.
