[April 15 (Wed) 16:30~] The GX Hidden in the Ocean: Regional Implementation Pioneering the Next Generation

Addlight Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tadaaki Kimura; hereinafter "Addlight"), operator of the co-creation platform "SUITz" for decarbonization and net-zero, holds the "GX Alliance by SUITz" every month. This is a co-creation space that creates a starting point for GX (Green Transformation) demonstration and commercialization through collaboration with government, academia, the private sector, and startups.

The theme of the 4th event is "The GX Hidden in the Ocean."

Focusing on the potential of GX in the marine sector, we will explore trends in creating new industries such as blue carbon and the utilization of marine resources.
We will invite Mr. Takeshi Okamura, Associate Professor at the Center for Regional Sustainability and Innovation, Kochi University, as the main speaker to explain the challenge of the "Shimanto Seaweed Eco-Innovation Co-creation Base," which uses the latest technology to revive the disappeared green laver (Suji-Aonori) of the Shimanto River back into an industry. He will talk about the mechanism of industry-academia-government collaboration to circulate "resources, economy, and human resources" starting from seaweed, and to regenerate the region and the future.

Now, Japan's vast "ocean" has become one of the decarbonization strategies.

This event will cover cutting-edge topics such as blue credit trends and the utilization of marine biomass. We will hear from key persons in marine GX, including a leading expert in innovation who turns marine resources into businesses, and a frontrunner supporting the next-generation marine industry with marine big data, about the potential of sustainable society and business originating from the ocean, and the "current location" of realizing carbon neutrality.

Going beyond mere information gathering, we will generate "hints for co-creation" from dialogues intersecting the perspectives of industry, government, academia, and the private sector, in order to accelerate the technological implementation of startups, the regional promotion of local governments, and the creation of new businesses by operating companies.
