Children’s English School Acti Method, Combining Typing and English Learning, to Open Kurokawa School in July 2026 with Free Trial Information Sessions

i GO Inc. has developed Acti Method, an innovative English learning method that combines typing and English. Children’s English schools under the Acti Method brand are opening one after another across Japan, and the number of operating schools surpassed 100 as of December 2025. The English curriculum guidelines changed significantly for elementary schools from the 2020 academic year and for junior high schools from the 2021 academic year. Currently, fifth- and sixth-grade elementary school students have two English classes per week, totaling 70 hours per year. English is now a graded subject designed to develop the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in a balanced way. Now that English is an official subject, class content covers four skills and five areas, and the curriculum is designed to connect with junior high school-level English. The goal is to “develop the qualities and abilities that form the foundation for communication,” which is almost the same as the content of the previous junior high school curriculum guidelines. In other words, the level of English learned during elementary school has risen sharply and become more difficult. Foreign language activities, mainly English, have also been moved earlier and now begin in third and fourth grade. In addition, the number of English words students learn in junior high school has increased by 400, from 1,200 to 1,600 to 1,800 words. Junior high schools are also aiming to conduct classes entirely in English. In elementary schools in particular, the learning environment has changed significantly, with programming classes also becoming compulsory in addition to English. University entrance exams aligned with the new curriculum guidelines will begin from the 2024 academic year exams, held in January 2025. Now Is the Time for Acti Method’s Typing-Based English Learning Acti Method’s strength is its learning method that enables students to input a large volume of English vocabulary in a short period of time. All typical English writing practice is conducted through typing. Students type English words on a keyboard to build vocabulary. As audio is played while students type the words and memorize spellings, they can practice spelling together with correct pronunciation. Once students become accustomed to practicing English through typing, they can type 5 to 10 times faster than practicing by writing with a pencil.
