A warning screen will be displayed to customers suspected of entering their Rakuten ID, password, credit card number, etc., on a phishing scam site, thereby preventing damage.

In recent years, damage from unauthorized use of credit cards has been expanding, with the amount of damage from unauthorized credit card use in 2025 reaching 51.05 billion yen, exceeding 50 billion yen for the third consecutive year (Note 1). Approximately 93.1% of the damage is due to card number theft, and among these, damage from phishing is expanding. Phishing is a method of defrauding personal information and credit card numbers through fake websites and emails, and its techniques are becoming more sophisticated year by year. The number of phishing reports in 2025 was approximately 2.45 million, an increase of about 740,000 from the previous year (Note 2).

Against this background, ACSiON and Rakuten Card are introducing this function with the aim of protecting Rakuten Card customers from unauthorized use damage and preventing it, by utilizing the knowledge and technology cultivated so far. A warning screen will be displayed to customers suspected of entering their Rakuten ID, password, credit card number, etc., on a phishing scam site.

Since January 2025, ACSiON and Rakuten Card have been working to suppress phishing damage by utilizing ACSiON's know-how to detect phishing sites impersonating Rakuten Card, close the sites, and collaborate with browser providers to activate safe browsing functions during the period until the site is closed. ACSiON and Rakuten Card will continue to work to reduce phishing damage so that customers can use their credit cards with peace of mind.
