Acompany Appoints Tsubasa Takahashi as Chief Scientist and Executive Officer, VP of Research & Development

Acompany Inc. (Acompany), headquartered in Naka-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, with Ryosuke Takahashi as Representative Director and CEO, is pleased to announce that Tsubasa Takahashi, who has been active as a Principal Researcher, has been appointed Chief Scientist and Executive Officer, VP of Research & Development, effective July 1, 2026.

Takahashi is a researcher with world-class research achievements in AI security and privacy, and a proven track record of implementing privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) in business. Since joining Acompany as a Principal Researcher in January 2026, he has led research and development and achieved remarkable results in project promotion. As an Executive Officer, he will oversee research and development strategy as a member of management, and will accelerate the development and social implementation of our "Confidential AI" at an even faster pace.

Profile

Career

Joined NEC Corporation in 2010. Worked as a researcher at the Central Research Laboratory, engaging in R&D related to privacy-enhancing technologies and AI security. Studied abroad at Carnegie Mellon University in 2015. Joined LINE Corporation (now LINE YAHU, Inc.) as a Senior Researcher in 2018. Led the business implementation of federated learning and differential privacy, and R&D on the safety and reliability of large language models and image generation AI. Served as Senior Researcher at LINE YAHU Research Center from 2023, and Head of the AI Security & Privacy Promotion Office from 2024. Dispatched to SB Intuitions Inc. in the same year. Joined Turing Inc. in November 2024. Engaged in R&D related to visual language models, world models, and AI safety. Joined Acompany Inc. as Principal Researcher in January 2026, and appointed Chief Scientist and Executive Officer, VP of Research & Development in July.

Major Achievements and Awards

Published numerous papers at top conferences in AI security and privacy, including machine learning (ICLR, AAAI), computer vision (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV), natural language processing (ACL), and databases (SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE). Author of "Privacy Protection for Machine Learning" (co-translated), and served on various committees for domestic academic societies. Selected as KDD 2025 Outstanding Reviewer and received the Japan Society of Database Industry Young Researcher Award. Completed doctoral program at the Graduate School of Systems Information Science, University of Tsukuba. Ph.D. (Engineering).

At Acompany, we have focused on R&D to realize "Confidential AI" centered on Confidential Computing, and its expansion into new areas such as Physical AI.

My appointment as an Executive Officer is an acknowledgment of my past activities and an expectation for me to work even harder. On the other hand, my commitment to leading Acompany as a researcher remains unchanged. The titles of Chief Scientist and VP of Research & Development reflect this sentiment. I will accelerate R&D that balances academic and market value on a larger scale with my colleagues.
