The Japan Breast Cancer Prevention Medical Promotion Association, Prost Symphony Orchestra, and Accorne (Accorne) have launched a collaborative project "CANTONEA (Cantonea)" to support people facing cancer through music, and will hold a charity concert at the Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall Small Hall on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
In Japan, the incidence of cancer is increasing year by year, and the importance of prevention and early detection is widely recognized. On the other hand, we believe it is important to convey not only medical information but also in a "heartfelt way" to society, and we empathize and begin to act.
Through this project, cancer survivors and their families, children, musicians, medical professionals, and the audience will transcend boundaries to create a single stage, aiming to create a place (platform) where they can feel that they are "not alone."
Accorne Strings will participate from our organization Accorne.
The children, who have grown significantly through the pre-concert of last December's charity concert, will welcome new members and deliver energetic and lively music at this "CANTONEA" performance.
In addition, the children of Accorne Strings will also participate in the performance of the Prost Symphony Orchestra, and by experiencing adult performances and having the opportunity to think about cancer and life, further growth is expected.
CANTONEA (Cantonea) is a charity event. Proceeds and donations collected on the day are planned to be donated to the following two organizations:
・National Cancer Research Fund (National Cancer Center)
・Kanagawa Prefectural Hospital Pediatric Medical Fund (Kanagawa Children's Medical Center)
