Canterbury Launches Commemorative Jersey for Japan Rugby Football Union's 100th Anniversary, Themed "Return to Origin" Expressing "White Before Stripes"

At the time of the JRFU's establishment, the red and white stripes that now symbolize Japanese rugby did not exist; the design was entirely white. This model focuses on that "white before the stripes" era, expressing the "origin" of Japanese rugby for the 100th anniversary with an all-white color.

For this 100th-anniversary special edition, an emblem inspired by a cherry blossom bud before full bloom is adopted on the chest. It faithfully reproduces the emblem design from that era, paying respect to the origins of Japanese rugby.

This jersey design carries a special sentiment, connecting the past, present, and future, as Japanese rugby celebrates its 100th anniversary. Additionally, as a pre-order bonus, customers will receive a Memorial Legacy (Note 1) for a Japan national team match scheduled for autumn 2026.

Canterbury has been in a partnership with the Japan Rugby Football Union since 1997, providing uniforms such as the Japan national team's jerseys and other apparel.

Note 1:
