ABEMA, the 'new future TV,' has announced the live broadcast of a special program titled 'SiM presents DEAD POP FESTiVAL 2026,' featuring recorded live performances from the rock festival 'DEAD POP FESTiVAL 2026' hosted by the four-member reggae punk band SiM, along with live talk sessions by the organizers and performing artists. The broadcast will begin on June 28, 2026 (Sunday) at 7:00 PM.

The program will showcase live footage from 'DEAD POP FESTiVAL 2026,' held on April 4 (Saturday) and 5 (Sunday), 2026, at the special venue in Higashiohata Higashikōen, Kanagawa Prefecture. Special guests will appear live in the studio to share behind-the-scenes stories and exclusive insights only performers can reveal.

'DEAD POP FESTiVAL' is a live event launched by SiM under the slogan 'Break the Wall.' Starting in 2010 at Shibuya club asia, it has continuously expanded in scale, moving to larger venues such as Ebisu LIQUIDROOM, Shibuya O-EAST, and Shin-Kiba STUDIO COAST. In 2015, it achieved its long-held dream of becoming an outdoor festival and has since evolved into one of Japan's leading loud rock festivals. The 2026 edition, marking its 16th iteration, shifted from summer to April to mitigate heat concerns, making it the first spring edition. Despite this new challenge, the event attracted a large number of music fans and concluded successfully with great enthusiasm.

This year's 'DEAD POP FESTiVAL 2026' brought together top names from Japan's rock scene, including SiM, BABYMETAL, Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas, HEY-SMITH, 04 Limited Sazabys, coldrain, Crystal Lake, MAN WITH A MISSION, THE ORAL CIGARETTES, and WANIMA. Additionally, bands with strong live followings such as PassCode, HAWAIIAN6, SHANK, SHADOWS, HIKAGE, and SKA FREAKS performed, along with international acts ANKOR (Spain) and THORNHILL (Australia), delivering two days of electrifying performances.
