Five Slice-of-Life and Youth Anime Titles, Including 'K-ON! The Movie' for the First Time on ABEMA, to be Broadcast Free During Golden Week!

ABEMA, the television for a new future, as part of its Golden Week special project 'Over 300 Anime Titles Free Release Festival,' will introduce five new slice-of-life and youth anime titles and progressively broadcast them all for free starting Saturday, May 2, 2026. This project picks up a total of five slice-of-life and youth anime titles, ranging from works that humorously depict everyday life to those that portray the sparkle of youth. All episodes of each work will be broadcast free of charge starting May 2nd (Saturday), and will also be available for free limited-time streaming. The lineup includes 'Azumanga Daioh,' a representative work of slice-of-life comedy that became a hot topic for its unique tempo depicting the chaotic daily lives of high school girls; 'Skip and Loafer,' a school life comedy that portrays the interactions between a girl who moved to Tokyo from the countryside and her classmates, and their life-sized youth; 'Himouto! Umaru-chan' (Season 1 & Season 2), a slice-of-life comedy depicting the slapstick antics with a beautiful but 'dried-fish' younger sister; 'Uchi no Maid ga Uzasugiru!,' a high-tension home comedy featuring a battle between a Russian elementary school student and a former self-defense force maid; and 'K-ON! The Movie,' the culmination of the 'K-ON!' girl band anime series, which is being distributed and broadcast for the first time for free on 'ABEMA.' These are the five titles.
