ABEMA, 'The New Future TV,' will sequentially broadcast a free marathon of 37 theatrical feature films, short films, and spin-offs as a special Golden Week event on its 'Pocket Monsters' anime channel, spanning nine days from Saturday, May 2, 2026. 'Pocket Monsters' anime is a hugely popular series depicting friendships and adventures with the mysterious creatures called Pokémon (short for Pocket Monsters). The TV anime began airing in April 1997, and the adventures of Satoshi (Ash Ketchum), a boy aiming to be a 'Pokémon Master,' and his partner Pikachu, were depicted for approximately 26 years until March 2023. From April 2023, a new series featuring the girl Liko and the boy Roy as new protagonists is currently airing. The theatrical film series also began with 'Pokémon: The First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back' released in 1998, and many films have been produced since, continuing to be loved by fans across generations. This project will sequentially broadcast a total of 37 works — all 24 theatrical 'Pocket Monsters' feature films, 9 theatrical short films, and 4 theatrical spin-off films — for free over nine days from Saturday, May 2, 2026, to Sunday, May 10, 2026. They will be broadcast sequentially every day from 7:30 PM. Furthermore, broadcasts can be enjoyed for free for one week after their initial airing.
