ABEMA, the "new future TV," will begin broadcasting its original dating reality show 'Clockwork Marriage' from 10 PM on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

This series follows three women who are confident in love but are beginners in matchmaking, as they embark on a "time-limited matchmaking program" to find a marriage partner within a 30-day deadline leading up to a wedding ceremony. Ayaka (Ayaka Nakano), a business owner with experience on popular dating shows; Yuka (Yuka Nishizawa), an active announcer; and Natsue (Natsue Tokumoto), a model – all three have fulfilling careers and private lives. They select one man they wish to meet from a total of 30 "high-spec men," relying on limited information such as income and age rankings. After a date with that man, they face the ultimate decision each day towards the 30-day wedding: either "cohabitation" to deepen the relationship or "breaking off the engagement" to choose another man. The show garnered significant attention even before its broadcast, with related posts on X exceeding 29 million impressions, creating a huge buzz.

We now bring you a report from a joint interview where the four MCs – Shigeo Takahashi of Savanna, Natsuna, Arakawa of Elf, and Kasumi Mori – discussed the highlights of the program and their own views on marriage.

■ Takahashi Recommends a Marriage Partner for Yuka Nishizawa: "Good at handling politicians"

Q. Please tell us your impressions of the three matchmaking beginners.

Takahashi: I've co-starred with Yuka-san many times. She's someone who can keep the atmosphere lively without being flustered by any guest, so I think any partner would be fine for her, but perhaps someone older and stable who can protect her would be good. Most of the guests on the show I did with Yuka-san were politicians, and I thought, "She's good at handling politicians." Amazing!

Mori: I love dating reality shows, and I had seen Natsue-san and Ayaka-san on previous dating reality shows, so I somewhat knew their personalities. I strongly felt that their approach to matchmaking this time is a bit different from before.

■ Natsuna on Matchmaking with High-Spec Men: "How did they find them!", Takahashi: "I think there are tons of women who want to be on it."

Q. Among the show's unique rules, such as "getting married in 30 days," "30 high-spec men," and "deciding daily between cohabitation (continuing the relationship) or breaking off the engagement (never meeting again)," which one caught your attention the most?

Arakawa: Meeting someone without knowing their face was shocking. How would a romance begin? Deciding based only on name and occupation was quite surprising.

Mori: This time, the men's level is incredibly high. Not just their income, but also their looks and personality are very high-level! Among them, the rule "once you choose to break off an engagement, you can't go back to that person" really takes effect later. I thought that the outcome would be completely different depending on the timing of selection and meeting.

Natsuna: For me, it's "annual income" after all. Isn't it amazing to know the annual income from the start? It's so hard to ask about income. Moreover, even if you try matchmaking, it's usually impossible to reach this level of high-spec men, but almost all of them are high-spec, aren't they? I think that's the amazing part of this dating reality show. It's like, "How did you manage to find them!"

Takahashi: If there's a second season (of the show), I think there will be tons of women who want to be on it! I thought everyone would choose based on high income, but it turned out not to be the case. I was very surprised by the variety of choices. So, I want people to pay attention to how they choose.

■ Natsuna Reflects on Her Own Speed Marriage with Her Husband: "Getting married in 30 days, it's possible!"

Q. What do you think about the rule "getting married in 30 days"?

Takahashi: If you date for 30 days and then get married, it's still somewhat understandable, but the deadline is constantly approaching. Maybe it will become popular, the 30-day marriage.

Natsuna: Thinking back to when I met my current husband, getting married in 30 days, it's possible!

Takahashi: I think so too. For married people, if you just meet the right person, it's possible.

Mori: But can you do it in 30 days if you think there might be someone better?

Natsuna: I probably didn't think that at the time.

Takahashi: This time, there's a beast with a clearly higher income waiting in the wings... (laughs). That's the key point to watch.
