# June 25th is Seafarer's Day. Japan Adoption Project

June 25th is "Seafarer's Day (Day of the Seafarer)" designated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

In Japan, maritime cargo accounts for approximately 99.6% (by weight) of total trade, meaning our lives and industries are supported by maritime transport. Furthermore, domestic coastal shipping, which handles domestic logistics, accounts for about 80% of industrial basic materials.

While carrying out these important roles that support society, the work of seafarers is often hidden from daily life, and their roles and value are not fully recognized by society. AIS Inc. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO Hiroshi Ohura, hereinafter "AIS"), an IT manufacturer providing core systems for the maritime industry, has launched this project with the concept of "Visible Appreciation for Invisible Work." to raise awareness and establish "Seafarer's Day" within Japan.

This project is an initiative primarily led by AIS, aiming to share gratitude and respect for seafarers with society as a whole, and to contribute to the maritime industry. We will develop this initiative as an effort that companies, organizations, and individuals can voluntarily participate in.

③ Provision of AIS-Produced Project Logo for Japanese Deployment

We offer the project logo data free of charge. Please feel free to use it for internal postings, public relations activities, events, etc. For this project, we will deploy two logos to raise awareness of "Seafarer's Day." One is the official project logo that expresses the philosophy and symbolism of "Seafarer's Day." It is inspired by a compass that guides navigation, representing the safety of seafarers and their vital role in supporting society. The other is the campaign logo that embodies the message "Visible Appreciation for Invisible Work." This project will focus on the official logo while fostering broad social empathy and understanding through the campaign logo.
