A Cabin Company Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Akira Nishimura) will open a wooden trailer house accommodation facility, 'Mori no Yado|ACAO FOREST,' within the resort park 'ACAO FOREST' in Atami, Shizuoka Prefecture, on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Despite offering excellent access—just 40 minutes by Shinkansen from Shinagawa Station—Atami, long known for its hotels and ryokan culture, will now present a new lodging value: 'urban-proximate nature stays.'

About the Wooden Trailer House

The approximately 16㎡ wooden trailer house uses abundant Japanese cypress and cedar from Tokyo's Tama region, from structure to interior, achieving a quiet harmony with Atami's natural surroundings. Through the large, open windows facing Sagami Bay, views of the sea and forest fill the interior. Guests can enjoy a stay unique to this location—sleeping enveloped by nature in the forest overlooking the sea—while experiencing the comfort of hotel-like amenities and facilities. Additionally, guests can enjoy BBQs in their private garden space, surrounded by trees and overlooking the sea.

Brand Concept: 'Urban-Proximate, Station-Near Outdoor'

Our company promotes the concept of 'urban-proximate, station-near outdoor'—a third place in nature that busy urban dwellers can visit casually, anytime they wish, and repeatedly. We provide an accessible escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

This model combines 'station-near,' symbolizing urban convenience, with 'outdoor,' representing rich natural experiences, creating a new lodging style that balances comfort and nature. The high-insulation space, crafted from high-quality cedar and cypress, features a queen-size bed, private flush toilet, shower room, air conditioning, and Starlink, ensuring comfort and privacy. Just outside the guest room, rich nature awaits—something not experienced in typical hotels.

Approximately 40 minutes by Tokaido Shinkansen from Shinagawa Station, guests can easily visit even after weekday work. In the quiet ACAO FOREST, after the daytime bustle has faded, guests can relax surrounded by a star-filled sky and the sounds of nature. We propose a new way to spend weekends, moving fluidly between city and nature.

Autonomous Energy Operation Using Solar Power, Batteries, and V2H

The facility introduces a V2H system, in addition to solar power generation and battery storage, utilizing electric vehicles as 'mobile batteries.' By storing electricity generated from solar power during the day and using it at night, supplemented by EVs when needed, we aim to reduce dependence on external power grids. Guests can enjoy comfortable stays while experiencing a lifestyle powered by renewable energy. Beyond regular lodging, this system also contributes to power security during disasters, aiming to create a sustainable and resilient accommodation facility.
