■ Is an "emulsion" necessary for skincare?

The role of an emulsion is to provide a balanced supply of moisture and oil to the skin, making it an essential item in skincare. An emulsion is created by emulsifying water and oil, which are naturally difficult to mix, to help them blend into the skin. While it can be difficult for the skin to absorb lotion (water) and cream (oil) alone, an emulsion acts as an intermediary with properties of both, improving skin absorption when used in a skincare routine. Therefore, an emulsion is a truly necessary item.
