Amazon Key is a service that allows only delivery drivers authenticated by Amazon to temporarily unlock an auto-lock system and deliver packages directly to the front entrance of an apartment unit during delivery.

After delivery is completed, access privileges automatically expire, so entry into the building for any purpose other than delivery is not permitted.

Even in apartment buildings with auto-lock systems, residents can use this delivery placement service with peace of mind.

Delivery Process

With Amazon Key, packages are delivered according to the following process:

Delivery driver arrives at the apartment building

Driver submits an unlock request via a dedicated app

Amazon's system authenticates the driver, delivery destination, and delivery time

Auto-lock is temporarily unlocked

Package is placed at the front entrance or delivered in person

Access privileges automatically expire after delivery completion

Entry into the building is not permitted outside of delivery times.

Eligibility for Implementation

Amazon Key is available for properties that meet the following criteria:

・ Apartment buildings equipped with auto-lock systems

・ Buildings with 10 or more units

・ Located within Amazon's delivery service area
