This new pharmacy, as the second in-front-of-hospital pharmacy in Japan, will expand the dispensing system by specialized pet pharmacists in the Kansai area.

Background of the Opening

🐾As more pet owners welcome pets as family members, the demand for dispensing expertise has increased with the advancement of animal medical care. On the other hand, at veterinary hospitals, challenges have arisen such as prolonged waiting times due to time-consuming dispensing after examinations, and staff having less time to interact with pets and their owners, which is their primary focus.

🐾Since opening Japan's first specialized in-front-of-hospital pharmacy for veterinary hospitals as an annexed store in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture in July 2025, 12 Pharmacy has been working to establish a dispensing system by specialized pet pharmacists and create an environment where veterinary hospital staff can concentrate on treatment. This time, to establish the same system in the Kansai area, the Kyoto store will be opened adjacent to Daktari Animal Hospital Kyoto Medical Center.
