Music Connects Encounters and Happiness: An 8-Part Story from 'Station Concert' to 'Station Wedding' Starts June 6 at Shikabe Station, Hokkaido!

Since July 2024, Shikabe Station has hosted the '15:31 Concert,' providing a space for local artists to perform and travelers to drop by. Shikabe Station, an unmanned station on the JR Hokkaido Hakodate Main Line, will launch a regular music event series starting June 6, 2026. This project inherits the history of previous concerts and station master events, serving as a kickoff for the '15:31 Wedding' on October 3, where a publicly selected couple will hold their wedding ceremony. JR Shikabe Station is a quiet, nature-surrounded unmanned station, but at 15:31, trains from both directions arrive and depart simultaneously, creating a 'miracle of passing.' This project likens this moment to life's encounters. This year, the project deepens this narrative by connecting it to a wedding. The bride and groom will travel from Oshima-Numajiri Station, arriving at Shikabe Station after a 9-minute journey to exchange vows in front of the local community. The 'Station Concert' series will build momentum toward this emotional finale.
