Yama Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kobe; President: Yasuo Kato) will launch Boatyard Distillery's organic gin, organic vodka, Old Tom gin, and Sloe Boat gin liqueur, imported and sold from Northern Ireland, nationwide starting July 1, 2026 (Wed).

Boatyard Distillery is located on the shores of Lough Erne in County Fermanagh, Southwest Northern Ireland, and is the first distillery legally established in this area since 1890. The distillery's name originates from its construction on a former boatyard. With a farm-to-bottle philosophy that encompasses everything from raw material cultivation to bottling, they emphasize the use of local organic ingredients. They are continuing their new adventure by balancing the highest quality with sustainable spirit production that protects the future of the planet.

A distillery surrounded by beautiful nature

In 2023, Boatyard Distillery became the first distillery on the island of Ireland to obtain B Corp certification.

B Corp certification is an international certification system awarded only to companies with public interest and high transparency that have met high standards by comprehensively evaluating five sustainability areas: environment, employees, customers, local community, and governance. Boatyard Distillery is promoting its sustainability initiatives and working to create a better society.

Furthermore, for the Double Gin, all botanicals, including juniper berries, are organically grown. The wheat used for the vodka is sourced directly from local organic farmers and has also obtained organic certification. While organic methods are very labor-intensive and time-consuming, they provide the highest quality ingredients necessary to create environmentally friendly and exceptionally delicious spirits.

Approximately 60% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions, with packaging weight significantly reduced to about 2% of the total product (※For glass bottles, the bottle weight is 43% of the total)

Through the provision of environmentally friendly ECO REFIL packaging, the use of glass bottles is reduced, promoting reuse. This contributes to reducing glass bottle waste, suppressing energy consumption during transportation, and lowering carbon dioxide emissions.

Additionally, they are constantly working to improve sustainability by reviewing all aspects of production, such as providing distillation residue to local farmers as cattle feed and reusing spent juniper berries in chocolate production, with the ultimate goal of complete decarbonization.

Hybrid type using a pot still and a column still

Organic wheat spirit is steeped for 18 hours with 8 types of organic botanicals, including sweet gale harvested from their own farm. The "double contact method," where juniper berries are added at the beginning and end of the distillation process, maximizes the character of the juniper berries, resulting in a powerful and refined taste.
