Company Introduction

Amidst increasing global demand for marine products, Japan's fisheries industry faces challenges such as changes in the marine environment due to global warming and a decrease in fishing workers.

Regional Fish aims to contribute to the promotion of the fisheries industry in various regions of Japan and the stable supply of marine products by creating new regional fish (Regional Fish) adapted to environmental changes, based on research results from Kyoto University and Kinki University, using cutting-edge selective breeding technology.

About Satsuma Daio Shrimp (Pure Akune Production)

1. Complete Land-Based Aquaculture Successfully Achieved by Researchers

A complete land-based aquaculture system has been established, completing the cycle of "artificially hatching eggs, raising them to adults, collecting eggs from those adults, and artificially hatching them" within the aquaculture farm.

2. Impurity-Free Aquaculture Environment

A "flow-through" land-based plant has been set up, continuously pouring filtered and sterilized seawater, creating an environment that minimizes the invasion of external dirt and parasites. Chemical-free rearing enhances the natural deliciousness of the shrimp.

3. Extra-Large Shrimp Stained by Akune's Sunset

The "Daio" (orange) in Satsuma Daio Shrimp comes from the color of Akune's sunset and the idea of parent shrimp connecting generations (代々 - daidai). It also reflects the characteristic that the flesh turns a pale orange color when cooked.

The "O" (king) represents the large size and the powerful sound of "Daio" (great king), symbolizing the presence of the parent shrimp.
