Evergreen Marine (Asia) Acquires Right-of-Use Assets for 12 1,900-TEU Container Ships for About USD 179 Million

Evergreen Marine (Asia) Pte. Ltd. announced that its board approved on May 14, 2026, the acquisition of vessel right-of-use assets from its related party, Greencompass Marine S.A. The transaction involves 12 fully cellular container ships of the 1,900-TEU class, with lease terms ranging from approximately 4.38 to 8.01 years. The total transaction amount is approximately USD 178,654,946.53. The transaction is classified as a related-party transaction. The company said the related party was selected as the counterparty to meet operational needs. The transaction was decided through negotiation, with pricing based on market prices, and approved by the board of Evergreen Marine (Asia) Pte. Ltd. Greencompass Marine S.A. previously leased the vessels from 13 non-related parties during 2020 to 2022, with lease terms ranging from approximately 9.92 to 12.43 years, recognizing vessel right-of-use assets totaling approximately USD 298,347,828.39. No disposal gain or loss is applicable to this acquisition. Delivery and payment terms will follow the contract, and no directors expressed objections.
