Table Tennis Kanazawa Port: Announcement of New Contract Agreement with Player Taisei Matsushita

We are pleased to announce that Kanazawa Port has reached a player contract agreement with Taisei Matsushita for the 2026-2027 season.

Taisei Matsushita is a table tennis thoroughbred whose parents were both Japan national team representatives. His uncle is Koji Matsushita, the first T-League chairman, and he grew up in a table tennis family. He himself experienced being a Japan national team representative at the 2023 Asian Games.

In the T-League, he joined Ryukyu Asteeda in the 2022-2023 season, and for three years from the 2023-2024 season, he led Shizuoka Jade, which joined the league at the same time as Kanazawa Port, as their ace. He has achieved a total of 25 T-League wins (23 singles wins, 2 doubles wins).

Matsushita's characteristic style, as he is called the 'star of penholders,' is his reverse backhand drive and over-the-table techniques, which are rare for a penholder in recent years.
Kanazawa Port resonated with Matsushita's attitude as a table tennis player who continues to grow even after becoming a professional, leading to this contract agreement.
